Nick Talwar

Nick Talwar is the President of Circle Up, who’s mission is to help entrepreneurs thrive by giving them the capital and resources they need. He was previously a Partner at Apis, an emerging markets private equity investor. Prior to Apis Nick had a twenty year career as an operator, in the intersection of technology and financial services. At Uber Nick was responsible for global vehicle supply, which focuses on providing vehicle access to individuals in over 70 countries. Prior to Uber, Nick led Amazon’s global lending business unit, and has led Visa’s credit card business in North America. He has spent several years at Citi, with his last role as Country Manager for Citibank in Sweden, a digital bank in the market. Nick began his professional career at the management consulting firm Bain & Company, and worked at Schwab Bank, where he was a founding director of the online bank and ran the deposits business.

Nick has lived and worked internationally for more than twenty years across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. He has served on the global and US boards of Accion, and currently serves as a Board member of Baobab and as a Board Observer on Shuttl, Payjoy, Alt.Bank and Rapido. He was nominated into the Young Global Leader program of the World Economic Forum in 2013. Nick has a BS in International Politics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

  • Once buried 15 feet underground in a snow cave in southern Patagonia for 9 days, never recovered full sensation in my toes
  • At two years old I organized my own birthday party at my apartment for 20 kids, much to my mother’s surprise
  • At business school I was able to host and get Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffett and Jack Welsh on campus
